Halloween PJs

Thomas and Lily both wore their Halloween pajamas for the first time this week. They were both excited about the new pjs. Thomas loves that his have fuzzy bats on them...and that they have eyes.

Abi gave Thomas this Halloween ornament....


While most kids put candy in their jack-o-lanterns, mine prefer to use them for.....

Young Chef's Academy

Last week we were able to go to the Young Chef's Academy to make Halloween cookies. It was a huge group, and all the kids waited patiently for their turn to measure flour, use cookie cutters, and decorate their cookies. It went really well. Look at how patient our table was....Aren't the aprons great?





Can you tell which color icing Luke chose? White, orange, or black? Eek! We just had to laugh at how much he globbed on his cookie, too. Mercifully for his mom, he didn't eat much of the cookie. :)


Lily and Faith had fun wandering around the room that wasn't being used, and comparing shoes on one of the benches at the front of the store. They also loved tasting what their big brothers made!

Samson is Strong...Samson is Weak...

Meet Samson....


Thomas drew a face on a styrofoam cup labeled with Samson's name at Sunday school the other day. Then, they planted grass seeds in the cup, and brought it home to watch Samson's hair grow. He has really enjoyed watching God make Samson grow strong, then cutting his hair when it gets long and making him weak again. Samson has had two haircuts now, but he is quickly getting strong yet again....

Messy Meals and Pretty Dresses

Lily had her first popsicle the other day, and fed herself some oatmeal for the first time. All in one sitting! Here are the filthy, but precious results....






Grandma and Grandpa bought this dress for Lily at a craft fair. Isn't it beautiful? She was so proud of her "dess" and her "shooos", as she calls them.

Josie's 1st Cowgirl Birthday Party

Thomas and Lily were invited to a birthday party with a Cowgirl/Cowboy theme for one of our friends from marriage group. It was amazing! They had a tractor pulling Cars train cars, a horse, delicious BBQ and cake, and great friends. They also had an old horse on springs like we all had as kids---only this one had been rigged to run on an old washing machine motor. It was hilarious to watch the 3 year olds hold on with all their might while they giggled and bounced away! We had such a great time! And, wasn't Lily a cute cowgirl? I only wished she had some cowgirl boots for the day....maybe next time. Would you believe it never rained even though the clouds were so dark!?
