Bubble Wrap

How do you entertain two kids in the middle of summer?
Simple. Take several pieces of bubble wrap, set them in the driveway, and let them run! They thought it sounded like fireworks. Then, they found an empty cardboard box and made a home with bubble wrap carpet. I don't think Lily's feet even hit the ground between sheets.

Fourth of July

We had a wonderful fourth this year! We started the morning at Timrod Park with their celebration, then went to Paola and Chad's to grill and swim. Paola and I went to Talitha and Derek's in the evening for delicious food and hanging out.

Splash Pad

Thomas and Lily were invited to a birthday party at the Splash Pad. It used to be a community pool that they filled in, covered with foam mats, then added tons of sprinklers and water toys. They loved it!

Lily ran out every three minutes to tell me it was cold, then right back to play again.




The two of them played together almost the entire time. It was so precious for this mom to witness!

Special Doughnuts...no...Ice Cream...no...??

So, while we were in Atlanta we decided to go to Sublime Doughnuts down by Georgia Tech. We discovered this amazing place when Jeremy and I were there for our anniversary. They are so delicious! So, we promised everyone in Augusta that we would bring some back to try. We drove all the way from Lawrenceville to downtown just to get the doughnuts before heading back to Augusta....rushing because I thought they closed at 3 pm. Turns out they are open til 6 pm - except they are closed on Monday! :( We decided we would surprise the kids with Jake's ice cream since it was an Atlanta place we missed. Finally found the closest one in Sweet Auburn area...closed on Mondays, too, apparently :(
By this point, the kids were really bummed since we built it all up so much. So, we ended up at Cold Stone in Conyers. Still yummy, but didn't seem like anything too special since we have it at home. The kids didn't mind, and Thomas was so sweet sharing his bites with Lily!






We went to Red Robin in Augusta, too, and Lily was so proud of her pink balloon from the red robin - whom she was terrified of before the balloon was offered.

Meeting baby Cooper Holt

We finally made it to Atlanta to meet my precious new nephew. He was already a month old! I fell in love with this little guy. Look at that smile!!


Thomas and Walker had a blast hanging out in their shark pajamas. I love to watch them make each other crack up like this....

I don't really have any pictures of Lily on this visit. I think it is because I was watching too closely to make sure she didn't give Cooper Holt too much of a push in his baby swing!

Hanging on the Couch and New Haircut

This Mickey Mouse blanket is the best blanket ever made! The kids - and Jeremy - were worn out after a long day of swimming. They were all so sweet snuggling and watching tv.

Fire Station Tour

Our stay-at-home mom's group took a tour of the oldest fire station in town. It was great! The kids even got to see where the fire fighters sleep when they are on duty.
Thomas walked around like this after the call radio went off.

But, she loved trying on the uniform.

Cruisin' in the Ford

Thomas and Lily have been loving the Ford lately. They drive around the yard, stop at the grocery store and Target, pick up pinecones, and listen to the radio.
I knew it was time to cut back on my Targeting when Thomas pretended to hand me a return the other day and told me, "I need to return this. I don't have a receipt, but here is my credit card." Whoa! Crazy how much they pay attention to things, huh?
Lily is in charge of the radio and Thomas is the driver. They like to go to the grocery store for bananas and milk. They've also driven to the beach a few times lately.

Happy Birthday, Luke!

Luke had his 4th birthday party at EdVenture. The party started with a parade with each kid getting their own instrument.

Then, they went upstairs to sing to Luke in his giant birthday party chair!

Doughnuts!!

We decided to treat the kids to doughnuts one weekend morning. Can you tell Lily was a little excited about hers? Funny thing is that she hardly ate any of it.


Thomas is a bit more serious about his sugar.




They love to watch the doughnuts go through the conveyor. They are so sweet to watch their wonder.

Dressed to Impress

So...we were going swimming at Paola's. I asked Thomas to go put his shoes on so we could leave. He was in his room a while, and then came out in this....

Don't know how I kept a straight face when he walked in the kitchen, but I did. In case you can't tell, he has on his swimsuit, striped brown socks, and red/black tennis shoes! Quite the fashion statement. I also think it is funny that Lily is leaning against the wall with her ankles crossed.

Last Day of 3K!!

I was sad to think of my little boy finishing his first year of preschool. Our family has fallen in love with his teacher, and we miss her so much. Thomas even accidentally called me by her name once, which made me feel so secure that she cares for him completely! I cannot imagine another teacher having such an impact on Thomas. He was excited to take her the gift we chose for her. And, he loved wearing his school shirt since it was a Friday! Lily just gets excited any time she sees her big brother so excited about something.

Bug Catching

Thomas and Lily have gotten a few bug catchers for different reasons lately (birthday, end of school, kids meals). They were ecstatic when we caught an ant! Thomas put some grass in and waited patiently for it to eat. They love the magnifying glass on the top so they can see the bugs up close without getting "up close".

Isabel's 3rd Birthday Party

Isabel turned three in May, and she had a lollipop theme. It was so much fun, and the kids were excited that it was warm enough to swim!
