Muffins for Mom

Thomas gave me an adorable invitation to join him for Muffins for Mom at school. It was a purse (blue, of course) with beads and a red handle. Of course, I accepted, and off Lily and I went to Mrs. Head's classroom one Friday morning. I was blown away - and teary, of course - by all the things that went on in that 20 minute party. The kids each handed us a flower (the muffin cup/pipe cleaner with his picture in the center) and walked us to our seats. Waiting there was the card with a sweet poem inside, a dish towel with a handprint made to look like a flower and ladybug, muffins, fruit, juice, and my sweet little boy in my lap! Then they sang us a song and joined us for breakfast. Mrs. Head read the book Someday, and we all cried again. If you don't have this book, you should definitely get it...it is along the lines of Love You Forever. Then we each got a portrait of ourselves drawn by our children, a summary of our likes, ages, etc. Finally, we got a cookbook with recipes created by our kids. Hilarious!
What a special treat it all was for this mommy. The best part? The huge look of pride on my precious boy's face when he handed me my flower and grabbed my hand to walk me to my seat.
