I asked her why her baby doll was sad. She looked at me for a minute, then said, "She doesn't have words in her mouth."
Translation - "She can't talk!"
Riding in the car one day, just the two of us...
"Mommy, when I get a red car seat, I will be four. Then, it will be yellow with princesses, because yellow is my favorite color."
She must have been looking at Thomas's car seat, which is red, and he is four.
Anytime anyone gets hurt..."Do you need to go to hospital? Do you need to go get a band-aid?" I guess she heard us tell Thomas that if he was screaming/crying that hard from a tiny boo-boo, he should be hurt badly enough to require a trip to the hospital. Oops!
She still says, "Hold you me" when she wants to be held sometimes.
On the way to get Thomas in car line at school everyday, there is a crossing guard in front of the school. She loves to wave to him and say hello, so she asks as soon as we get in the car, "Mommy, can we see the man?"
My sweet, innocent girl has yet to notice that he has headphones on and doesn't hear her greetings.
While in car line....hands cupped around her mouth....mock-yelling..."Thomas Merzlak! Thomas Merzlak! Come on! Put your booty in your car seat!" She remembers hearing them call his name at Highland Park car line, telling him which color to stand by for pick up. Not sure where she came up with the booty in the seat part, though. Maybe she's just anxious to have him back in the car with her.
As soon as the teacher opens the car door, Lily greets Thomas with the sweetest smile and, "Hey, buddy! How was your day? What did you do? Did you play outside?" It is so sweet! And he answers her so genuinely. Sometimes I don't even have to ask much about his day, because she gets the answers for me.
She is so loving to her babies lately. She loves to hold them close, bounce them with her little lips poked out, and give lots of hugs and kisses. What a mommy she is going to be!
